The Studio......
Barfield Photography has been an established and respected wedding photography studio since 1972. Our staff of women photographers are well known for the outstanding quality of their photography and their attitude of becoming personally involved with every wedding they photograph. There is an indoor portrait studio and a half-acre, beautiful all year, garden for outdoor photography. Both areas are available for bridal and engagement sessions.
Wedding Coverage Services......
Our plans are designed for the bride who desires a unique and personalized record of her wedding day. We offer several wedding package plans that provide all the services required by most brides. We also price each of these services individually for the bride who wishes to create a plan of her own design.
One special service that we provide is to offer a choice between traditional wedding photography and the photojournalistic style that has become popular in recent years. You can have one photographer do a combination of both styles with the emphasis on the style you most prefer or you can choose to have two photographers combining these styles to create an amazingly complete record of your wedding. We offer color or black and white photography or a combination of both on all wedding coverages.
A most important service is the pre-wedding consultation with your photographer. A few weeks before the wedding, the bride, groom and parents are invited to the studio for a special get acquainted visit with your photographer. At this important meeting, a list of the photographs that that you desire will be made and all details will be discussed. This will insure that the photography will be done to your exact specifications.
If you purchase an album as part of your coverage you may design the album yourself or we will design it for you. Our bride's albums include a handmade "Memory Page" created from pressed flowers, invitations and other keepsakes from your wedding.
The Photographers......
Karen Barfield is the studio owner and a Certified Professional Master Photographer. She has won many local and national awards for her portrait work. Karen's specialty is creating bridal and engagement portraits for our wedding clients.
Helen Ventura has been photographing weddings for Barfield Photography since 1994. Before moving to Houston, she owned a wedding studio in California for ten years.
Debi Wallace has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston and has been the studio manager of Barfield Photography since 1993.
Helen and Debi are both experienced photojournalistic photographers who are excellent at capturing the emotions and beauty of today’s weddings. The events of your wedding can be captured spontaneously as they occur with little or no interference from the photographer or, at your request, the photographer can quietly help to manage the flow of events so everything stays on schedule. They can also expertly pose people if you would like a few traditional portrait type images.
